Classic Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients: Gather 1 cup of unsalted butter (at room temperature), 1 cup of granulated sugar, 4 large eggs (at room temperature), 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.

Preparation: Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

Creaming Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, using a hand mixer or stand mixer.

Adding Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.

Incorporating Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour and salt to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Baking: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
