Jimmy Garoppolo accidentally hands Las Vegas Raiders $11.25 million on his way out

Following his recent suspension for violating the NFL's Performance Enhancing Substances Policy, the Las Vegas Raiders are expected to release Jimmy Garoppolo, resulting in projected savings of $11.25 million for the team.

Garoppolo has been suspended for two games next season after violating the NFL's Performance Enhancing Substances Policy.

The breach reportedly relates to his use of a prescribed drug without getting the correct medicinal use immunity from the league.

In his 10-year NFL career, the veteran quarterback accumulated a passer rating of 77.7 while playing seven games for the Raiders.

During this time, he threw for 1,205 yards, seven touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He emerged victorious in four of these games, displaying a completion rate of 70 percent in those victories.

For 2024, Garoppolo's contract guarantees him $11.25 million in base salary. The Raiders benefit from his suspension since it nullifies the contract guarantee if they release the QB.
