Mom’s Russian Tea Cookies  

Ingredients: Gather 1 cup of unsalted butter (softened), 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour, and 3/4 cup of finely chopped pecans or walnuts.

Preparation: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mixing: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.

Adding Flour and Nuts: Gradually add the flour to the creamed mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms. Stir in the finely chopped pecans or walnuts until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Forming Cookies: Shape the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each cookie.

Baking: Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly golden brown.
