Perfect Baked Apples

Ingredients: Gather firm apples, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, brown sugar, cinnamon, butter, and optional toppings like nuts or raisins.

Preparation: Preheat the oven and core the apples, leaving the bottoms intact to create a well.

Filling: Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and any desired toppings in a bowl. Stuff the mixture into the cavities of the cored apples.

Baking: Place the stuffed apples in a baking dish and dot the tops with butter. Pour a little water into the bottom of the dish to prevent sticking.

Bake: Bake the apples in the preheated oven until tender, usually about 30-40 minutes, depending on the size of the apples.

Serve: Serve the baked apples warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a delightful dessert.
